Emissão de moedas comemorativas de 2 euros entre 2004 e 2009
A partir de Janeiro de 2010, 15 Países emitiram independentemente moedas comemorativas de 2€ (Áustria, Bélgica, Finlândia, França, Alemanha, Grécia, Itália, Luxemburgo, Mónaco, Portugal, San Marino, Eslováquia, Eslovénia, Espanha e do Vaticano).
A Grécia foi o primeiro país a emitir este tipo de moeda. Quatro países da zona euro ainda não emitiram moedas comemorativas (Chipre, Irlanda, Malta e Países Baixos), também ja houve duas moedas comemorativas de €2 comuns, emitidas por todos os Estados membros da zona euro (Tratado de Roma em 2007, a União Económica e Monetária da União Europeia em 2009).
